Freedom Bowl Registration Begins November 14^th

The Freedom Bowl is an annual competition for all youth ages 12-18.

Teams of four compete by answering questions about the Founding Era.

Rules ~ Rules of the competition and all questions and answers are provided in the Freedom Bowl Competition Manual 2nd Edition (copyright 2009). There are two sets of questions in the manual. This year’s bowl will feature the Liberty Bowl questions. Freedom Bowls are administered by Roots of Freedom.

Divisions

-Junior Freedom Bowl Division- Ages 12-13, must be 12 yrs old by Jan 14, 2011

Youth over 13 may not compete in the junior division.

-Senior Freedom Bowl Division, Ages 14-18

Teams ~ A team consists of four youth and must provide one adult moderator for the competition. Youth may register as individuals but teams must declare the names of their four members and moderator by Jan 6th, 2012. Email the four names of your team members and adult moderator to aylisecretary@gmail.com. All moderators will be trained at 12:15 before the competition begins. It is permissible for an alternate to train with the team, but only four members per team will be permitted to compete in any AYLI Freedom Bowl. An alternate does not need to register in advance. Upon arrival at the competition, the team should inform the competition staff that an alternate is participating in the competition. In the case of a team member dropping out at the last minute, a team may compete with only 3 team members. Only team members who participate in the competition will be eligible for a scholarship.

Scholarships ~ The four members of the top three winning teams from the Junior and Senior Divisions will each receive a non-transferable scholarship (in varying amounts) to attend the AYLI sponsored Simulation Week scheduled for June 11-14, 2012. These scholarships may not be exchanged for any cash value, other services or products.

Registration ~ Registration for the Freedom Bowl is open to all youth, regardless of AYLI membership or state/country of residence.

The registration fee is $80 per team ($70 for teams that include at least one Statesmanship Club member) and you must be registered by January 6th, 2012.  Due to technical difficulties, the deadline has been extended to January 7th, 2012.
